This was my first time celebrating Leukemia Awareness Month. Considering last September, I didn't even know what the Orange Ribbon stood for, I think it was a productive one (what difference a year makes). I hope yours was, too.
Since the Cure Leukemia website was launched in August, we've made some AMAZING accomplishments:

Our first week is nearly complete, and I’m pleased to say that Cure Leukemia is off to great start! We’ve gotten 192 ‘Likes’ on our Facebook Page and 18 followers on Twitter. Best of all, I’ve heard from two people who are seriously considering becoming bone marrow donors because of Cure Leukemia’s awareness efforts!
Hello world! Cure Leukemia was launched on Tuesday, August 2, 2010. It's just a baby website now, but it's bound to grow into something great in the future. It's the first time I've created this type of website.
For the techies out there, it's a Joomla-based site. Most of what I've done in the past was static HTML and CSS design with a dash of JavaScript and ActionScript. So this project required me to go a bit out of my comfort zone, but it's been so worthwhile. I couldn't have done it with the help of my dad, Jim, a software engineer that can do just about anything! I also feel the spirit of my beautiful mother, Lera, guiding me through this new adventure. With that said, I hope you enjoy Cure Leukemia!
